Dead Pixel Test is a free online screen checker. It fills your display with nine solid colours so you can inspect a monitor, laptop, phone or tablet for dead or stuck pixels with your own eyes. There is nothing to install, no account to create, and no fee at any step.

Who it serves

Anyone checking a display: new purchases, ageing monitors, phones after a drop, and second-hand screens before money changes hands. The test works in any modern browser on desktop and mobile.

What it cannot do

• It cannot see your screen, so it performs no automatic detection or diagnosis.
• It cannot repair pixels — there is no flashing fixer and no pressure instructions.
• It cannot decide warranty claims; manufacturer pixel policies differ.
• Downloadable summaries record what you reported; they prove nothing by themselves.

How it is built

A static website: the test, the optional screen map and the summary downloads all run in your browser. There is no server-side processing of your observations, no user database, and only basic visit statistics (see Privacy).
